To mission differently.
This is what we are about. Too often mission trips have become routine. They are another activity we arrange as part of our yearly program. They are the obvious alternative to a study abroad experience for the Christian college student. They are the once-in-a-lifetime experience we can point to that proves that we (at one point) lived our faith in a way that we feel profoundly impacted others.
We believe short-term mission trips shouldn't and don't have to be any of these. We believe these trips, internships, experiences - whatever you choose to call them - can lead to real, tangible, lasting change for both those who are sent and the ones who are reached. We believe short-term mission - done well - creates sustainable ministry. Most of all, we believe building true, authentic relationships between churches, individuals, and missionaries in true ministry partnership is the key ingredient to effective mission.
How We Mission Differently
We are a part of Youth Missions International, an organization dedicated to empowering young people to live and share their faith in Christ. We do this by providing practical training and ministry opportunities students can lead in direct partnership with local church and ministry leaders. No bases, no intermediaries: just you, them, the relationships you build and the community you serve.
Our goal is to empower you to go and accomplish this without complication from a third party. We make this happen by working only with church and ministry leaders we have built a connection with and met face-to-face, in their home country or city. We take short-term mission work seriously: that's why we choose to mission differently.
What We Believe
We believe in one God, who exists in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - the Trinity. God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign Ruler over the universe. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ is God's only Son, fully human and fully divine. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and came to earth so that He could die for the sins of the world. All, who by faith, place their trust in His death on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins will have eternal life. After His death, Jesus rose again on the third day and now sits in Heaven at the right hand of God, interceding on behalf of those who know Him as their personal savior. (Luke 1:26-38, Romans 8:34, 1 Corinthians 15:3-5, Philippians 2:5-8, Ephesians 2:8-10)
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and indwells all people who have placed their trust in Christ for their salvation. He is our Comforter, Counselor, and the seal of salvation for those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ. (John 14:15-17, Ephesians 1:13-14)
The Bible is the perfect and complete written word of God. It was written and formed through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the authority by which all Christian believers order and conduct their lives. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
Humanity is created in the image of God. Humanity was created to have a perfect relationship with God. However, due to the disobedience of Adam and Eve, sin and death entered the world, and as a result, all humanity has inherited a sin nature and the perfect relationship between humanity and God was and continues to be broken. (Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:23 and 5:12)
Where We Work
Since 2013, Mission Differently has been the mission training division of Youth Missions International. Each year, we train and send young people to share the gospel in locations around the world. Working hand-in-hand with local, indigenous missionaries who make up the majority of our partnerships, we place participants in authentic ministry situations that allow them to gain vital experience as they grow into young Christian leaders who love to share Jesus.
