Hello from Jamaica!

Joseph Keith

We are having such a wonderful time serving our God in this beautiful country. Today was our first full day of ministry. We ran a VBS from 9:00am till noon at Grace Baptist Church all this week. This is the VBS we planned at launch and it is a full 3 hours packed full of songs, games, bible teaching and crafts. And then in the evenings all this week we are participating in Teen Time at the same church. This is a week long competition between the teens that are put into two groups. Bible sword drill, skits, songs and games are all planned out for the week. Nate is doing the devotions every night for the teens. Tonight he spoke about gaining wisdom from God.

Today we had 45 children of all ages for VBS and then there was about 35 at Teen Time. Those numbers are expected to increase as the week goes on. Already there are many children who are loving on both Samantha and Ruthanne, their faces light up when they see them. Michael is making fast friends with all the kids on his team as he gets right into the action with his team. I am having a great time getting to know a couple of the girls who think it’s great I am open to trying so many Jamaican foods, and enjoying  them so!

Speaking of food, we are all being so lovingly cared for by our wonderful host Radclif and Marcia. We are all being so pampered by all the fresh fruits and specialty Jamaican treats. So far we have had plantain, cooked green bananas, pumpkin, sweet potato, and a Jamaican pattie. Plus so many great Jamaican soft drinks and juice. And fresh coconut water–ahhhhh so refreshing. Tonight we had great ice cream as a nice cool treat.

Here are a few pictures of our stay so far. The group picture was taking by Samantha, explains why she is not in the picture, but a nice shot of her playing drums this evening makes up for the that.

Continue to pray for us as we continue this week in VBS and Teen Time. Radclif is planning on getting a beach day in for us this Saturday. Bless you all!
