The team is doing very well. We had a great time at Adonai Church and we will miss them and the kids there. It’s amazing how much God allows us to build cross-cultural relationships when we are all working together for the sake of the Gospel! We get to build relationships with multiple churches while we are here and we have now arrived at the 2nd church we are staying at.
At this church, we are also running a sports camp. Our first day here we walked around the neighborhood as a team and invited kids to the camp. Then we ate lunch and headed down to the subway and train to watch the semi final soccer game between Argentina and Netherlands. Soccer is such a huge part of Brazilian culture and it’s truly an experience watching games in the middle of a crowd of Brazilians!
When we know we will be around lots of people, we always bring evangelism tools with us. Though we can’t set up a planned out ministry, we want to take advantage of the opportunities that God gives us. When we go to watch games with everyone, we have been handing out evangelism cards to as many people as we can. You never know what God might use to draw people into a relationship with him!
