Hello from Jamaica,
We are all doing well! It took a couple of days for us to get adjusted to the time change and the heat. We are still working on the heat part as it is warm and humid here - fortunately, it cools off enough in the evenings (70 degrees!) for us to get a good night's sleep.
We have had the chance to share the Gospel with almost 2,200 students and staff at the different schools that we have been to so far, and each team member has had the chance to share their testimony in these presentations. Please join us in praying that the impact of their stories will continue in the lives of the students who heard them.
At one of the schools that we went to, after we were finished the principal came up and thanked us for coming. Her church has a weekly Awana club, and because the team shared about their experience with Awana, she now has opportunities to invite her students to her Awana club to continue hearing about Jesus.
Please continue praying for:
- Health for the whole team as we continue to adjust to the heat. One of the team leaders (Rebekah) has been dealing with slight stomach trouble over the past two days, but with some rest is feeling much better.
- Open hearts for the students and teachers that we talk to - God is giving us so many opportunities to present the gospel. Please continue praying that God would cause that message to take root.
- We will be speaking with a local youth group on Sunday. Radclif (the missionary) has been trying to help this church start an Awana club, so hopefully this will be a stepping stone for them to start this awesome weekly program!
