Northern Ireland Mid-Trip Report

Levi Marti

It has been a great few days here in Northern Ireland and we are so excited about the work that God is doing!

We arrived in Dublin early Saturday morning and met our missionary, Chris from Salt Factory Sports.  He brought us to our dorm and introduced us to his interns that we'd be working with for the week, Amber and Bethany.  After a quick meal, we went for a bus tour around Belfast and went to the Ulster museum.  Both of these experiences were so valuable in helping us understand the culture and history of the area and how they've been impacted by the unfortunate history of violence here.  Several people noted that their favorite part of the day was a portrait gallery which shared first hand stories from people who were affected by "The Troubles."

Sunday we went to the church where SFS had held camp last week and heard their recap of the week.  We loved seeing how excited the kids were about everything they had learned, and knowing we'd be leading one, too!

Monday, we started prepping for the week of camp.  Our students were able to use so much of what they had learned in training to prepare and present lessons.  They also asked Chris if they could teach him a new song, Inside My Heart, and he liked it so much he decided to make it the theme song for the week!

Tuesday was day 1 of camp and what a great day it was!  Our students led songs, taught the memory verse, and assisted with telling the Bible verse.  Most importantly, they did a great job building relationships with the kids, and you can see how they are already pouring God's love into the lives of these children.  It was nice to see at our team devotionals that evening how each student had specific children on their hearts to pray for.

We are excited to continue to plant the seeds of God's love into these little hearts and look forward to the rest of the week!

In Christ,

Team Northern Ireland
