Stories from the mission field. Check here to see what God is doing in and through young people as they lead in ministry.
Our 2017 Portugal Explore Team has arrived safely at their mission location near Porto.
Below is a picture of them sent to us upon their arrival in that country. Please be checking back here for an update later in the trip!
Hello, family and friends! We are having such an incredible experience and adventure in Iquitos. We are becoming more comfortable with storytelling and sharing the Gospel. God is not only using us to serve in so many ways, He is helping our team overcome struggles. God is definitely growing us here!
Some of the things we have done include leading VBS at multiple churches, sharing our testimonies, eating interesting local food, and worshiping and fellowshipping with our Peruvian brothers and sisters. But the most amazing moment came on our second day of door-to-door evangelism.
On the first day of door-to-door evangelism, three people were saved. But on the second day, twelve people were saved! This was really encouraging and amazing! One of the groups had five team members evangelizing, and everyone they talked to accepted Jesus. All glory and praise to God!
We have seen many people that are spiritually hungry and willing to accept the truth of Christ, but they just need one willing soul to come share the Gospel with them. God is on the move here in Peru. To those of you at home, please be encouraged to step out and evangelize as well. Expect God to move and He will!

We made it!
Thanks so much for your prayers. Three planes, three layovers, and four airports later, everyone and everything made it to Iquitos. We had a very healthy and heartening lunch and now have some time to recharge this afternoon before we visit one of the churches where we will be working this evening. It's very warm and beautiful here! Please pray that our team adjusts quickly to the time and temperature, and that we stay healthy and ready for ministry!
Austen for Team Peru!
The team has arrived safely in Lima and are on their way to Iquitos! We pray for continued safe travels for the team, for the missionary who will receive them, and that God would continue to prepare the hearts and minds of those He will touch through this ministry.
Awana T&T English camp went very well. There were around 230 children attending. We combined with Team 1 and the interns for this camp. The children had 5 rotations of nature, games, US geography, Bible and movie for the English teaching. In addition the team led songs for worship time. We built relationships during swimming, crafts and Awana games. We worked with a group of passionate Korean leaders and were greatly blessed by this. Many tears were shed at parting time by both the children and the team.
On Sunday after church we went to a Nanta performance. We finished our time with a get together at Awana Korea headquarters where we learned of their vision to reach Korea and other Asian countries.
**Editor's Note: Both South Korea teams are now making their way back to the United States. These two teams bring to a close our 10th ministry season! In ten years we have trained 8,754 young people to share their faith in Jesus, and 106,867 have heard the Good News of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord! But we're not done. Not even close. This weekend we start training more young Christian leaders who will share the Gospel in 2017. Please join us in thanking God for His faithfulness.
